Want to work with energetic, bright, devoted next gen college and university students in one of the most vibrant, innovative, intellectual and influential cities in North America? With over 50 colleges and universities in the Boston metro area and with over 250,000 students each year, Boston is a vital mission field and training center to shape next generations to influence our world for Jesus Christ. Have you ever been to Boston in the Fall?
Cornerstone Church of Boston is primarily but not exclusively a second gen Asian American millennial and GenZ congregation (average age is 23) in the Evangelical Covenant Church (covchurch.org). Cornerstone has active college ministries in up to 10 Boston Colleges and Universities (i.e. Northeastern, Berklee School of Music, Boston University, Boston College, Brandeis, Tufts, Wellesley, MIT, etc.). We are seeking a full time or half time college pastor with significant life and ministry experience with second gen Asian American college students. The right candidate will have a passion and a vision and a strategy for loving, engaging, investing, equipping, empowering, and discipling college students to be more like Jesus Christ as they discover their holy callings to make a difference in our world.
The college pastor will recruit, equip, and lead the College Ministry Core team to develop active Cornerstone ministries on individual college campuses. If full time, the college pastor will also be the pastoral equipper of one or two other Cornerstone ministries according to their gifts and calling (i.e. Community Life, Mercy and Justice, Online Congregation Ministry, Global Missions, etc.). Our college pastor will also be part of our preaching team to preach up to once a month.
An MDiv is preferred, but significant theological reflection will also suffice. The most important qualifications will be significant experience and a passion and vision and strategy for Asian American college-age ministry.
The College Pastor will report directly to the Lead Pastor. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
