Cornerstone is led by a pastoral staff team of three members. The pastoral staff is responsible for the preaching and teaching of the Word of God, administering the sacraments, providing missional leadership, and faithfully carrying out pastoral care and work.

  • Bill Johnson Lead Pastor

Hailing from the Midwest, Pastor Bill is married to his wife Marla and has three adult children - Christine, Sarah, and Daniel. Pastor Bill received an undergraduate degree from Wheaton College, majoring in psychology. His graduate degrees include an M.A. in educational psychology and counseling at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, an M.A. in Religion as well as an M.Div from Westminster Theological Seminary. Pastor Bill then went on to complete a Doctor of Ministry at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, writing his dissertation on spiritual formation. His ministry experiences include pastoral positions in local churches in Nebraska, Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, and overseas in Panama and Honduras. He is currently ordained in the Brethren Church and in the Evangelical Free Church of America, but seeking to transfer ordination to our denomination, the Evangelical Covenant Church. Pastor Bill was called as our new lead pastor in July 2014.

  • HoJin Yoo Young Adult & Executive Pastor

Pastor HoJin was born and raised in New York City, departing to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to receive a B.A. in Economics. After committing to God's call to ministry, he attended Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary for his M.Div. He is an ordained minister in the Evangelical Covenant Church and has been serving at Cornerstone since 2009. Pastor HoJin and his wife Julie have been married since 2014.

  • Danny Yoon College & Worship Pastor

Pastor Danny is a Massachusetts native and a die-hard Boston sports fan. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, majoring in communication and minoring in psychology, and his graduate studies at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, where he obtained his M.Div degree. Pastor Danny is a certified CrossFit trainer and a licensed minister in the Evangelical Covenant Church and has been serving Cornerstone since 2011. He is happily married to his wife Eunjee.

The Leadership Team (LT) at Cornerstone is a group of congregationally-approved members who oversee the church both spiritually and operationally. It is a group made up of between 5 and 9 people that operate on year-long terms starting in August. In many other churches, the analogous leadership is structured as Elders and Deacons.

On the operational side, the LT oversees church finances, makes sure we have a place to worship, and takes care of other business matters. On the spiritual side, the LT makes sure the Pastoral Staff has accountability and are taken care of and keep a general pulse of the congregation’s health. The overall goal is to maintain Cornerstone’s health as a Christ-centered community. Who is currently on the Leadership Team? The LT currently consists of 6 members plus our Lead Pastor, Bill Johnson.

  • Ernie Park Chair

Ernie has been attending Cornerstone for over seven years since his freshman year at MIT. He grew up in New Jersey and is a huge New York Rangers/hockey fan. Previously he has served on praise team doing vocals and has also led the welcoming team. He lives in Cambridge with his wife, Tina, who was also on Leadership Team previously, and their two dogs. They both work as software engineers in Cambridge.

  • Eugina Lim Finance Chair

Eugina attended Cornerstone through undergrad at Boston University and is currently working in Back Bay. In addition to being the finance chair, she serves as one of the leaders of our Welcoming Ministry at our church -- so you're bound to see her on a Sunday morning, ready to help you get connected to others and plugged into our events and groups!

  • Jennifer Chung Membership Chair

Jennifer has been attending Cornerstone since 2012 after moving to Boston from upstate New York. She currently serves as leader of the Offering/Tithes team and as a community group leader. Jennifer works at MIT as a tax accountant in the Institute's central finance office. She enjoys spending time with family and her rambunctious dachshund, Toby.

  • Adam Miller Vice-Chair

Adam has been attending Cornerstone for over eight years after finishing his time as an undergrad at Harvard. He grew up in Ohio and is a huge sports fan, football in particular. This is his second tenure and seventh year overall serving on the LT and he has previously served on the Welcoming Team, the Young Adult team and was a part of the Pastoral Search Committee that brought in Pastor Bill. He lives in Watertown with his wife, Grace, and their two children, Leah and Titus. Adam works for a software company but Grace, with two master’s degrees from seminary, is clearly the smarter half.

  • Priscilla Cheung Secretary

Priscilla has been attending Cornerstone since completing undergrad at Bowdoin College in 2006. She grew up outside of Boston and loves to calligraphy, read, and eat good food. This is her second tenure serving on the LT and she was also part of the Pastoral Search Committee that brought in Pastor Bill. Her previous church involvement included serving on the College Ministry and being a community group leader. She is a clinical psychologist and lives in Boston with her husband, Aaron, who is a mental health clinician.

MENTORED Ministry Interns

Seminary students who attend Cornerstone often serve as Mentored Ministry interns under the care and guidance of the pastors. These interns serve in various capacities at our church while pursuing their degrees.

  • Chris Lee

Chris grew up in Queens, New York. To receive his B.A. in English Literature from Fordham University, Chris read and wrote on a lot of books by dead people. Throughout college, Chris was actively engaged in missions work in Haiti, which made him an obvious fit for leading the Global Missions Ministry at Cornerstone. Chris recently completed his M.Div degree at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Chris is a newlywed man to his best friend, Esther.

  • Janet Lee

Janet grew up in Massachusetts and has never left. She received a B.M. in Piano Performance from the New England Conservatory by playing a lot of piano. She is currently working towards an M. Div and M.A. in Counseling at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. She hopes (is praying) to complete her dual degree in 2020. She loves to laugh and appreciates coffee on an emotional level.
